Ta proces je povezan s \u0161tevilnimi psiholo\u0161kimi stanji, vklju\u010dno z depresijo, anksioznostjo in posttravmatsko stresno motnjo. \u010ceprav lahko ruminacija v dolo\u010denih okoli\u0161\u010dinah prispeva k bolj\u0161emu razumevanju osebnih izku\u0161enj, je pogosto disfunkcionalna in vodi v za\u010darani krog negativnih \u010dustev.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Raziskave ka\u017eejo, da ruminacija temelji na te\u017enji po analiti\u010dnem razmi\u0161ljanju in \u017eelji po re\u0161evanju te\u017eav, vendar pogosto ni usmerjena v prakti\u010dne ukrepe. Posamezniki z visoko stopnjo ruminacije se pogosto osredoto\u010dajo na vzroke in posledice svojih te\u017eav, namesto da bi se osredoto\u010dili na iskanje re\u0161itev. Posameznike se spodbuja, da svoje misli usmerijo v konkretne korake za re\u0161evanje te\u017eav, namesto da bi ostajali ujeti v premi\u0161ljevanju.
